Okay Ladies and Gentleman, time for a long overdue update! I do apologize that this has taken so long! A lot of people I was catching up with over the Christmas Holidays were asking, 'What have you been up to? Hows the film world?' and I feel bad having not kept on top of social media because soooo much cool stuff has been happening for me! Last June I was working on the film CandyLand and started taking an interest in the Props Department. I was thinking of all the cool builds and artwork needed for the films and decided to ask about volunteering. I started working with David Alexander Macdonald who took me under his wing and taught me some awesome skills and I got my first props credit on Leon Lee's Feature called, The Bleeding Edge.
From there I began working with Property Master Clint Novak and was lucky enough to work consistently gig after gig after gig! I learned valuable skills in the props department and I was blown away by the dynamics of a film set! As an actor, I really wasn't able to fully understand the intricacies and complexities of how the productions operate and now...I'm a pro!
I worked on the TV movie Reluctant Witness, feature film Photographs, assisted with The Christmas Shephard and then came back after my summer holidays and began working on, If There Be Thorns and then Seeds of Yesterday. These films were the 3rd and 4th films in a series based off the books, "Flowers in The Attic" and both had amazing cast such as Heather Graham, Rachael Carpani, Jason Lewis, Mackenzie Gray, Mason Cook, Leah Gibson, James Maslow and so many more! I loved working with all of them! It was such an experience watching them work and learning and observing (and of course helping) and feeling proud of all we contributed to the films as a props team!
There was one moment when I was watching Heather Graham and Rachael Carpani do this amazing scene and tears kept welling up and I was crying because it was so moving and powerful, and these two leading ladies were doing exemplary work take after take. I knew that I was so lucky to have that experience because it was something I could never find in school. Both the directors for Thorns (Nancy Savoca) and Seeds (Shawn Ku) are people I bonded so strongly with and would love to work with again in the future!
And Since this past November I have been on set props for the Hallmark TV Series, "When Calls The Heart" and have had the pleasure of working with Lori Loughlin, Erin Krakow and Daniel Lissing! We finish up shooting this season at the beginning of March and I will be so sad when it is over!
In addition to that I was able to see the short film I did, "Hungry Heart" fully finished and it looks amazing! Thank you Sara McIntyre and Marena Dix for creating such a beautiful piece! In October I did a photo-shoot for the film, "No Men Beyond This Point" where I got to portray Young Helen and adorn various 1940's attire, which I loved so much! And last week I met with my amazing talented friend Tommy Roumanas http://www.tommyroumanas.com and began discussing his upcoming music video!
The past 6 months have been amazing and I am so excited for the future! I am working in such an interesting industry and meeting amazing people! I have been practicing yoga for almost 2 years now and and really taking responsibility for my health and my body! I am working on some awesome art pieces including a mural with my boyfriend Adam Buhler that takes up our entire bedroom wall! I am learning about permaculture and urban farming and this year will be our third year with our giant organic garden! We are still property managers on top of that and slowly making improvements to the Slocan house and bringing together a cool community of people! I am finally making enough money to make monthly donations to the charities I love and I'm engaged in a recycling project right now with Rebecca Sjonger where we collect all the bottles from set and raise money for the Abbotsford SPCA!
I am truly grateful and blessed for all the amazing people in my life and I'm looking forward to working on new projects in this year 2015!!!

I appriciate so much my friends and family and fans I've gathered along this journey! Everytime I see more views on my page, more likes and comments it makes me so happy and grateful for all of your support. Here is a quick update on Dana May and the projects I have been so blessed to book winter 2012 and spring 2013!
Interior City Night is in POST PRODUCTION and should be ready for viewing very soon!
Shelf 17 is a Capilano project set in 1941 in a smoky bar, film noir style. I play Anna, sister to the lead, Jack, who is a detective with his own style...a style that gets him into trouble. My husband is a clean cut, by the books Cop and although they usually do not get along at all, they will have to in order to solve this Mystery!
Another period piece project where this time I am the LEAD is called Hungry Heart! It was an amazing shoot! I loved the style of the costumes, the first hlf from 1929 and second part in 1931 and I felt very connected to the character of Amaryllis. It was Directed by the lovely Sara McIntyre and produced by Marena Dix and written by Dawn Prato and based on the novel "The Majic Garden". Photos arriving soon for a sneak peak!
Most recently I performed an actor rold in the up and coming series, "The Hero Project" written and produced by Paul Grenier and Directed by the very talented Adam Buhler. I am so excited for this series and will be sharing all of the information with you once I have it in regards to where you can watch, see behind the scenes photos and videos and read about what next for the series!
I finished my sitcom comedy class with Graeme Duffy and it was a barrel of laughs! I am really interested in Package Deal, Mr.Young and other sitcom style comedies that are coming to Vancouver! Quite the change from our usual Sci-Fi genres, eh? But I still want my tough girl character to be on Continuum! I am also taking audition classes With JEBB BEACH at Beatty st. studios and loving it! See a sample of my auditions in the Videos section!
Thats all for now! Contact my Agent Tea Buechner at her NEW agency, Argent Talent Management for more information or to book ~Dana May~

So from September 8th-18th I preformed at Vancouver Fringe Festival in the Liminal Space Theatre collection's show "The Other Side". This was a great oppourtunity for me to stand out as a character/pysical actor because not only did I play a character from a fantasy land, my charachter, Grorick was an old Russian man.
Yes, you read that right. Old Russian man. I had an excellent time putting together a thick deep Russian accent, crazy costume with a big coat, rabbit hat and workboots and a whole new way of walking and limping. I was barely recognizable as a woman. Don't you love Fringe Festival?
Check out the pictures!

The Valentines' Day show at Barclay Manor was huge success. Even though we sold out we actually oversold and had to bring in extra chairs for walk-ins!!
It was a fun, light comedy with some under cover agents and a hilarious reveal when sweet Wilma Willis turns out to be super slooth NIKITAb and Willard Wonder is 007 JAMES BOND. There was one smart audience member who figuered the whole thing out and won top prize. We have up and coming shows in Steveston and Hazlemere to look for in the future. I will keep you posted.

I have been working for Grimm Reaper Murder Mysteries Producer Trevor Jenkins since September and have done 4 performances for him so far. We just finished the Burlesque Murder Mystery in Cresent Beach on Jan 27th and it was a huge success, sold out and even had to turn down people at the door.
Also, we booked another show with them (this is our third) for the springtime! Next week I am starring alongside Michael Li in a Valentines' Mystery at the Barclay Manor Downtown on February 11 at 7pm. Give them a call and reserve tickets because it is almost sold out as well!
